Global hotel operator Mövenpick has just announced the appointment of Michel Checoury as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Reporting directly into the company’s President and CEO Olivier Chavy, Checoury boasts more than three decades of experience gathered from around the world.
The Frenchman joins Mövenpick from Aman Resorts, where he served as CFO since 2014, in charge of the finances of all 31 properties spread over 19 countries.
Commenting on the announcement, Chavy said: “Michel brings to the role a wide range of advanced technical and commercial experience, gained with some of the world’s biggest hospitality brands. His expertise will prove invaluable to the finance and executive teams, particularly as Mövenpick continues to expand its portfolio across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East at a rapid pace.”
Checoury will be in charge of ensuring a sound financial footing for the company’s rigorous expansion plans. He will be based in Dubai, where he used to work for Jumeirah Group as Resort Director of Finance until 2008.
Checoury holds an MBA from Paris XII University, and has spent his whole career managing finance for some of the world’s most recognised hospitality businesses.
