Aldi will open 900 new stores in the United States over the next five years.
The German chain is currently operating out of 1,600 outlets across 35 states but is aiming to increase its presence by 56% by 2022.
Plans also include the remodelling of many of their current stores as the company looked to nail down its share in a crowded grocery market.
“We have passionate fans who know Aldi offers a smarter way to feed their families in a modern, convenient and easy-to-shop environment,” said CEO Jason Hart.
25,000 new jobs are expected to be created from the company’s $3.4bn dollar capital investment.
Aldi opened their first stores in the US in Iowa back in the 1976.
