Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Amtil acquire 45% stake in Made Group

The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Amatil acquired 45% of the company, signalling their efforts to shift their portfolios towards healthier high growth companies.

The Coca-Cola Company and its regional bottling firm Coca-Cola Amatil has acquired a minority stake in Australian beverage company Made Group.

Founded in 2005, Made Group produces cold-pressed juices, high-protein smoothies, probiotic milks, yoghurts and coconut water under its brands Cocobella, Rokeby Farms, Impressed, Schnobs and NutrientWater.

The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Amatil acquired 45% of the company, signalling their efforts to shift their portfolios towards healthier, high-growth categories. 

Through the partnership, the Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Amatil will help grow Made Group's market reach and distribution.

“Our aim is to bring the Made range of products to an even wider audience through our expertise and reach in distribution,” said Alison Watkins, Coca-Cola Amatil managing director.

“There’ll be no changes to the flavours or ingredients. Made Group co-founders Luke Marget and Matt Dennis will stay on in charge of the business and keep doing what they love – developing and producing a fantastic food and beverage range.”

Today, Made Group employs 100 people across four offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

The beverage company sells its drinks in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong and this year, it announced that it will open a 30,000 sq metre facility in Melbourne to support its growth.

Made Group co-founder, Matt Dennis, said that the partnership was a significant milestone in the company’s 13-year history.
