Hotel giant Marriott International has expanded its leadership team in a bid to drive activity in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
The group aims to add another 150,000 rooms, either in operation or pipeline, in MEA by 2022. Currently Marriott owns 240 hotels in 30 countries – this new growth will see that number grow to 38.
Spearheading this movement will be the new brand, marketing, sales and consumer services (BMSC) leadership team.
Leading the team is Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Neal Jones, a veteran of the company and holder of this position since 2013. He will be responsible for topline revenue of the Marriott International brand.
Paul Dalgleish is now Vice President of Sales & Distribution, in charge of, among other things, leading the distribution strategy in the MEA region. Sarah Allen is Vice President of Revenue Strategy & Analysis, while Jitendra Jain has been made Vice President of Digital, Loyalty and Portfolio Marketing.
Other appointments include: Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President of Premium and Select Brands; Sarah Walker Kerr, Vice President of Communications Middle East and Africa; and Raheel Baggia, Senior Director, BMSC Planning and Services.
