Casual Dining Group - owner of restaurant brands such as Las Iguanas, Café Rouge, and Bella Italia - has announced that it is to launch a new delivery-own brand, Stack and Grill.

Prepared in 40 of its national Café Rouge restaurants, Stack and Grill will have a small menu offering of burgers, croque monsieur grilled cheese sandwiches and craft beers that are available for delivery.

The latest move comes as the Casual Dining Group tries to get its “slice of the delivery market.”

Set to launch next month, the new restaurant brand will deliver food throughout the UK through delivery partners such as Deliveroo and Just Eat.

Speaking at the Casual Dining Show in London, the group’s chief operating officer, James Spragg, noted that whilst delivery had been successful for brands such as Bella Italia, it was more challenging at Café Rouge.

The group is optimistic that its new brand Stack and Grill could boost sales at its sites.

“At the moment Café Rouge is busy in the day and not so busy in the evening, so we’ve got enough space and kit to deliver for [delivery],” he said.

“The great thing about delivery is if you have an amazingly busy night you can turn the tablet off and not accept any more orders as the customers in store are the main focus.”
