Subway has appointed John C. Scott as its Vice President of Global Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Scott, the former global procurement director at PepsiCo, will oversee the company’s global agenda for an integrated sustainability and corporate responsibility programme.
“I am pleased to be joining Subway and a team that has made great strides to build the company’s sustainable and responsible practices,” Scott says.
“Subway is in a strong position to build upon the investments already made and I look forward to helping the company continue to have a positive impact on our customers, franchisees, supply chain and environment.”
Scott has more than 20 years of experience in sustainability and consumer-focused supply chains and most recently served as Chief Supply Chain Officer for The Chef’s Warehouse.

In recent years, Subway has made several commitments to improve its food and operations, while minimizing its impact on the environment.
By 2016, the company achieved its commitment to only serve chicken in the US that is raised without any antibiotics and additionally, Subways also began listing calories on its menus two years before FDA requirements.
