Today at the W Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, the top restaurants in Asia were named and celebrated at the fourth annual Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony. The top honor went to Bangkok native restaurant Gaggan, claiming the #1 position as well as Best Restaurant in Thailand for the second consecutive year.
Second on this year’s list is Tokyo’s Narisawa, also named Best Restaurant in Japan for the fourth straight year. Rounding out the top three is Restaurant André, named Best Restaurant in Singapore.
Western fusion restaurant Mingles took the Best Restaurant in Korea title as well as the Highest New Entry Award, making its debut at #15. Tokyo French restaurant Quintessence took the Highest Climber Award for its meteoric 29-place rise to #20 since last year, while Florilege was recognized as One to Watch.
“Now in its fourth year, these awards reflect the growth and diversity of Asia’s dining scene,” said William Drew, Group Editor of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. “The 2016 list includes 10 new restaurants and showcases the best dining experiences in 13 countries, more than ever before. Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants strives to reward creativity as well as culinary excellence and all 50 restaurants on the list, as well as the individual award-winners, exemplify these qualities.”
